NWP 2021 Site Reports were filled with references to successful efforts by local sites to create online learning opportunities for teachers in their regions. Now with support of a sponsor, we invite NWP sites to apply for a $5,000 Grant for Expanding the Impact of your site’s teacher leaders and online learning programs by revising them to be offered in the Write Now Teacher Studio. This grant is for planning and offering an online program in The Studio of the type called a “Deeper Dive.” The grant has a period of performance of 9/1/21 – 9/30/22.
In support of National Writing Project’s mission to improve the teaching and learning of writing and to leverage the knowledge and skills of teacher leaders, these grants will allow a local site to build upon a piloted online learning opportunity and to reengineer it for a wider audience.
Successful completion of this grant will require these grant Milestones:
- Identify a team and point person for leading the learning opportunity and join them to the Write Now Teacher Studio;
- Enroll the point person and relevant team members in the “Deeper Dive on Deeper Dives” course by Nov 15, 2021. The course will run November 29 – Dec 10, 2021 and will support the team in developing their course in The Studio. (Prior experience creating a course in The Studio is not necessary.)
- Work with Hosts in The Studio to schedule, deliver, and archive your Deeper Dive in the Write Now Teacher Studio.
- Post lessons learned in the Deeper Dive on Deeper Dives course community.
